Yuri loves Colton

From the very first time Yuri saw Colton Dixon audition this year on “American Idol”, she was smitten.  My first thought, “oh, great.  She WOULD pick out the one with the mohawk”.  And then I got a lesson about judging people by their appearance.  Now after seeing what he is really all about, I would be honored to have him as my son-in-law someday.  This boy loves Jesus and isn’t afraid to say it in front of millions.  The 15-year age difference between him and Yuri might be a hurdle, but who knows!?!

Yuri been so cute this entire season, talking about “her boy”.  She told me once that she loves to hear him sing so much he makes her eyes want to drip.  Awww.  I’m not exactly sure what she means, but I think it’s a good thing!

We always DVR the show and watch it back the next morning.  Last week when she got up to watch “her boy”, I had to break the news that he was voted off.  She was so sad – she’s still hoping to sing a duet with him.

Here’s her video to Colton:

Senior Discount - the Sequel

You may remember my blog a few months ago where I told the story of Willard and the senior discount at KFC.  I keep telling him to get rid of that white facial hair.  It ages him by years… like 10 years apparently.

Last Friday night, we had some time between Haley’s ballgames so me, Willard, my mom and my dad all went to Ryan’s to eat some yummy fried chicken off the buffet.

When we got there and I saw that they have a senior citizen discount for age 55 and older,  actually make a joke to mom in line – “Wouldn’t it be HILARIOUS if they gave Willard the senior discount? Haha”

Insert picture of the receipt as proof…

Raise your hand if you’re pretty sure you were the only one in the party who didn’t get the senior discount…

Told ya he needs to shave!  Oh well, good thing I like older men.  AND he did save us 70 cents!

Random thoughts for today...

Random thoughts for Thursday –

·        No matter how long you let it lay there, laundry will not fold itself.

·        The best invention of the century is Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

·        I’m loving the convenience of the Tide Pods, but I hate the smell.  Smells like an old man’s cologne.

·        I would be a terrible juror.  I watch “Dateline” and “48 Hours Mystery” and the first half of the show I think the person is guilty and the second half I think they’re innocent.  I’m easily swayed.

·        I think Haley Rae tweets entirely too much.

·        It amazes me that Hunter considers himself an “accounting genius” but he can’t keep up with his checking account balance.

·        I’m pretty sure Karlie is going to be 6 ft tall.

·        Am I the only person not feeling DeAndre on American Idol?

·        I’m proud to say that one of my children (either Yuri or Gigi…can’t remember which) wore white shoes last week (yes, a week BEFORE Easter) and I hardly had any anxiety at all.

I took the three little ones to Amy Sherrill a couple of weeks ago for Easter pictures.  Apparently, Gigi has a phobia when it comes to furry creatures.  She didn’t want the bunnies or the chickens anywhere around.  I finally said “Gigi, you HAVE to sit still and smile for just a minute.  Even if they crawl on you, you CANNOT move”.  And this is what we got…
